Tried installing the batteries that showed up as low before the majic fix and all worked. No clue as to what it was exactly but whatever it was has been fixed. After all the testing it turned out that something was shorting out on the main board. Got fed up with my tech and all the ambiguity around this problem. Well, just a few weeks after that it initialized itself again. I took my last chance thinking that it might have been a defective battery or something unfortunate like that. TOok it to the tech and had the battery replaced again. Checked the battery status and it showed up as low. TOok it to the shop and had the battery replaced. I restored them to factory and next time I powered the unit up it was back to blank initialized memories. ONe day internal patches got initialized. There’s one scratch to the left of the vector joystick (see images).I had a similar problem with my Korg Wavestation EX. It is in really nice condition, with normal studio wear, but nothing that really detracts from it cosmetically. You may notice this at first, but all the keys soon uniformly respond after a few moments playing. I just replaced the internal RAM battery, and the RAM card battery for the convenience of the buyer.Ī common’ behavior for these 90’s Korg Synths that used the Yamaha keybed was for some of the black keys to feel a bit stiff until the unit warms up. This unit is 100% functional and has no known problems. The lens over the LCD display is clear with no scuffs or significant scratches. The display is clear and crisp with no defects. It’s bright and has a really nice color that is very much like the OEM backlight (white/blue).

Several years ago, I upgraded the LCD backlight with an aftermarket light that is much brighter than the stock one. Over the years, I programmed it with some of my favorites from the vast Wavestation library of patches, many of which were borrowed from the Wavestation SR. Introduced to my studio when it was released in the ’90’s, this beautiful Korg Wavestation EX includes a rare RAM card for a third bank of patches and Wave Sequences, as well as all original documentation.
